How long have you been CrossFitting? Favorite types or kind workout(s)?

I have been doing CrossFit for about 6 years. I enjoy workouts that involve lifting and cardio, dumbbell snatches, rowing, deadlifts, and my new favorite burpees ;).

Proudest Accomplishment in CrossFit so far?

My proudest accomplishment is that I show up and workout the bonus is that I get to workout with some really great people. Since arriving at CrossFit Narrowgate about 1 year ago my Olympic lifting has improved.

What was your biggest misconception/or do you think is the biggest misconception about CrossFit?

The biggest misconception about CrossFit is that you can hurt yourself and feeling that you are not physically able to do CrossFit. If asked by others “How can you do CrossFit?”, I say that everything can be scaled so you can start CrossFit at anytime no matter what your physical capabilities are. In regards to injury you can injure yourself anywhere at anytime. At CrossFit we learn how to move and how not to move, which we can implement in our daily lives.

Who are you when you are not at the gym?

I feel like I am the same person inside and out of the gym I laugh often and my life mantra is it can always be worse. At work I will never ask anyone to do something that I wouldn’t do.

How has CFNG impacted your life outside of the gym?

I always feel better for coming to CrossFit Narrowgate so it makes me a better person I feel stronger when I leave ready to face the world I lift patients at work better and I can help dig holes in the yard safer. I am inspired by my CrossFit Community to push harder every time I show up.

You are a regular, what motivates you to get to the box?

What motivates me to come to CrossFit is how good I feel after, even if I am exhausted I still always leave feeling better emotionally or physically then when I came in. Also the community I come in to workout with others which is what I initially loved about CrossFit the mentality that no one is done until everyone finishes. So if you finish a workout you cheer others on or join in with them. We are all in it together.

What advice would you give to someone just starting at CFNG?

Advice for those that are new to CrossFit just show up we “the community” will take care of you.

Anything you’d like to share about CFNG??

Thank you to everyone I was devastated when my CrossFit gym closed about a year ago. I am so blessed to have found such a wonderful gym, with amazing coaches and a fantastic community, you all inspire me and keep me going I am so proud to be apart of CrossFit Narrowgate.
