How/Why did you start?
I needed something that would hold me accountable, and with recently moving to Phoenix I felt that the community aspect would keep me coming back.
There is a love/hate relationship with Nancy and Grace. Thrusters, bench and squats kick *peaches!

Double Under’s, Handstand Push-Ups and Strict PU’s
What was your biggest misconception/or do you think is the biggest misconception about CrossFit?
I think the biggest misconception are that “your going to get huge just by picking up a weight”, “that you don’t get any Cardio with CrossFit” or that “everyone gets hurt”… this is all bull *excrement. Show up, work hard and comeback tomorrow.
Tell us about your favorite memory of CFNG
Almost killing Coach Corey two weeks into CrossFit. I unloaded one side of my bar and as I turned back I saw my empty side slowly lifting in the air and Corey was standing with his back to the other side of my bar. Fortunately, I caught the bar prior to it smacking him in the back of his bald head.
How has CFNG impacted your life outside of the gym?
CrossFit had made a huge impact on my life both physically and mentally. I feel more confident, much stronger, and more present with my family.
Do you look at the workout before you come in or do you wait for class? Why?
Yup, daily. I want to know what’s in store for me, and how big of a towel I’ll need. I don’t tend to cherry pick my WODs knowing I can scale if necessary and I’ll have fellow athletes there to push me.
Nike Metcons or Reebok Nanos? Other?
NOBULL. Both Nike and Reebok didn’t feel/fit right, NOBULL are the bomb. (Plus they don’t squeak?)
What advice would you give to someone just starting at CFNG?
Focus on Mobility, listen to your coach, don’t go too heavy and stick with it. The WODs only get easier the more you stick with it.
