How long have you been CrossFitting and how/why did you start?
3.5 years. A friend thought I would love it because I am so competitive and like hitting goals.
What is are are your favorite workout(s)?
I like workouts with sprints and OH Squats, so “Nancy“? I love/hate lots of them.
What is your proudest accomplishment in CrossFit so far?
Deadlifting 290 pounds or, honestly, just being able to hang with all the young people when I am not.
What’s your next CF goal?
A FREAKING MUSCLE UP!
What was your biggest misconception/or do you think is the biggest misconception about CrossFit?
People force you to lift/do things you can’t and you will hurt yourself because of it.
What workout accessory can you not live without? Why? Knee sleeves, support/compression feels better and reduces my post-WOD soreness.
Tell us about your favorite memory of CFNG.
Doing a competition at the SWAT facility, where somehow I ended up doing the individual and team comp. I thought I might die, but it was a blast and I got 3rd in the individual competition.
Who are you when you are not at the gym?
I am a wife, mom of 2, an Optometrist and still a competitive smart ass.
How has CFNG impacted your life outside of the gym?
I handle stress better. My boys realize exercise is a part of all of our lives and they think I am super strong. 😉
